Medieval Prague

We started our day in Prague with a trip to the castle, and St. Vitus Cathedral (which reminds us of Marc and Allie's dog, even though it is spelled differently).  Nearby is an old monastery which is a beautiful library which reminds us of something at Hogwart's, a narwhal horn- which I have wanted to see since I was five years old, and a petrified dodo bird which looks like a shoe.  Very cool!

Allie and Marc and I walked across the Charles Bridge in the evening, and on the way back we saw a man with a gorgeous owl.

We went to an amazing medieval dinner which we thought would be hokey and touristy, but was really quite a show.  The food was quite good, although hard to see by candlelight.  Giant portions of meat, pork, chicken, and duck.  But the highlight was the entertainment; a Bohemian band, sword-fighting pirates, and belly dancers who danced with snakes, swords and flames.  They would never be able to get away with some of that stuff in the U.S., but it was an encredible show!  Dad was surprised once again, and is loving his birthday so far.
